  WELCOME TO STYLE FOR HIRE

Thanks for your interest in Style for Hire! We're always on the hunt for people with experience in personal styling or expertise in a related field (costume design, fashion merchandising, personal shopping, etc.), a terrific eye, serious client-skills, and a passion for helping people feel great about themselves. As a Style for Hire stylist, you'll work with people of all shapes, ages and budgets to help them find the look that's best for them. In doing so, you'll teach them how to dress their body-type, identify their most flattering colors and silhouettes, recommend where they should be investing vs. saving in-closet, and where and when to shop to maximize their wardrobe's value.

How You Benefit

CLIENTS Stacy London educates the public about the importance and availability of personal styling, and drives customers to our Web site to find you. We build partnerships and programs with local and national lifestyle brands, media, and corporations to increase our stylists' exposure.

LOCAL AND NATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Style for Hire forms partnerships with retailers and related service providers (tailors, dry cleaners, consignment stores, etc) that provide a superior product or service. These partnerships will function in a variety of ways to benefit our stylists and their clients.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Style for Hire stylists receive ongoing training by Stacy and her team. Our initial, 2-day Styling Workshop for veteran stylists sets the standard for the industry, offers new ways of approaching what you already do, and brings you together with your peers for intensive information-sharing. Stacy's methodology has been refined over 20+ years of styling, but we also work with our stylists to identify and incorporate wisdom accumulated through their own experience.

Style for Hire stylists receive seasonal trend digests, updates on designers; and training and certification in areas of specialization such as plus-size, maternity, eco-styling, etc.

OPPORTUNITIES Our stylists have access to local and national photo styling, special appearances, retailer staff and stylist training, and others.

COMMUNITY You become part of an exclusive group of top-ranked stylists across the country who have been selected and certified by Stacy London. Local stylists get together on a regular basis to socialize, exchange tips, share stories, and be part of a vibrant, close-knit organization.

SAVED TIME AND MONEY We reduce the administrative hassle and expense of marketing, schlepping, and reporting on your own business; and paying for other costly, low-benefit certifications.

How You Join

You attend our workshop! Our intense, interactive two-day session lets us get to know each other as we present the Style for Hire approach. Post-workshop, the best of the bunch will receive invitations to join our network. A subset of talented stylists will be invited to join as Apprentices. They'll assist our stylists, and after gaining more experience, will be re-evaluated by our team.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

We firmly believe that there is an Art and a Science to styling. We will assess you for both:

THE ART OF STYLING: a natural eye, self-confidence, open-mindedness, tact, flexibility and exceptional client rapport.

THE SCIENCE OF STYLING: the ability to identify a body type and to choose the most flattering garment. The knowledge you have from your years of experience performing closet audits, building relationships, refining your craft.

We screen primarily for your Art - your innate ability to shine in this intimate profession and require that you demonstrate a firm understanding of the Style for Hire Method. Our Apprentice program is designed to provide further mentoring for those with skill who need some additional experience.
